What is the script to not allow an html editor to open up a web page? I use microsoft frontpage. the icon is at the top of my browser beside the stop, refresh, home buttons etc. usualy you can click the frontpage icon and it will load the page you are viewing on the net (even if it's not yours) so that you can look at the script, learn how they set up the page etc. ( i know about "view/source" but would like to actualy play around with the design in an editor) on some sites the frontpage icon is greyed out, not allowing it to load in the editor. what is the script that prevents this from happening? example: yahoo answers! does not allow FP to load their page. ZressE: I also have FP 2003. there are several webpages scattered throughout the net that must have some script preventing an editor from opening it up. perhaps the sites i see are using different web design programs to create them that FP will not recognise? Any one else have some other explainations?
I need to find a HTML Editor for Mac better than Project Seamonkey? Hello, I have been using project Sea Monkey for quite a while now. I don't like that fact that when I copy and paste into the Sea Monkey, it messes up the original font. Is there a better HTML Editor in which I can copy the text, paste into it and then turn it into a HTML code? Thanks in advance

What is the easiest and best HTML editor for beginners? I am building a fairly simple website (business) and I need a really easy to use program. I can use Dreameaver - but just enough to make a halfway decent page. I need something that is super easy - drag and drop - WYSIWYG. I don't care if I have to pay for it - just let me know which is the easiest. I want a program that is capable of turning out a nice professional looking page.
Does anyone know how to use google adsense with CoffeeCup HTML editor? I posted an ad with google adsense using CoffeeCup, and I can see the ad when I click on preview. I saved the file, but then I can't see the ad on my blog. I can only see the ad on my web editor when I click on preview. I am trying to publish it, but I can't find a publish button when I click on file on the top left corner of the screen. Can anyone please help? Thank you in advance.

I need an html editor like Microsoft Expression Web? I recently used it, but I had to downgrade from XP SP2 so I couldn't have it anymore. Does anyone know what software I could use to replace it? I want software with the split design view. For those who don't know, half of the work area is html code and the other half is what the website looks like on the web.
I want to create a functional website for an online store; what is the best & least expensive html editor? Or is it better to simply use a service like Yahoo Small Business or similar service to start up an online store? I have rudimentary html writing skill but not much more, but I don't want a "cookie cutter" site. I'd like it to resemble a newsletter or magazine splash page, possibly with an RSS feed area (blog), but I don't have experience with formatting using html or anything else (XML is after my time, and I only know RSS because it is mentioned so often w/regard to blog technology.)
Where to find an HTML editor? I am hoping to find an HTML editor which can automatically match tags for me. Ability for indentation is even better. The reason I am looking for this is that it's very easy to mass up HTML code when the level of nesting for <table> or <div> is too deep, and I forget to close some of the open tags.
Is there a free HTML editor besides greasemonkey? I am having some code problems (HTML and CSS) and I want to find out where the problems are. HTML Editor to add "shopping cart" to my web site (PayPayl)?? I have a web site where I want to sell specialized fishing jigs. I registered as a business user on PayPal so that customers can use my web site to purchase items. The PayPal instructions say for me to use a "text editor" or an HTML editor. I have no idea how to use these, or where to obtain them. I searched the net under both of these & quickly became MORE confused, not less. I just need to be able to paste the HTML code from PayPal into my web page next to the item I want to sell. They make it sound simple, but I have absolutely no idea how to go about this and PayPal offers no further info. Anyone out there know anything about this? Thanks in advance!
HTML or editor, which do you prefer? Professional web designers, what is better, just type your own HTML or use an HTML editor to design a website or combination of both? Maybe it depends on the individual? From my experience most proffesional prefer HTML.
Advanced HTML Editor? I really like building websites from the actual code (HTML, JSP, ect.) I also find it to be a hassle to open Internet Explorer every time I complete a webpage and want to test it out. My question is: Is there an HTML Editor that offers a built-in browser and maybe even a HTML validation tool? Actually, free would be nice!

online/web-based wysywyg html editor that is not limited to isp site? Looking for simple online/web-based wysywyg html editor. But the only things i'm finding in searches are captive programs that are web-builders for particular isp sites, like godaddy template web-builder. It seems that ektron is the type of 'general' program that is usable on whatever i site i choose, but since the only thing i need to do is to add links to a site, that is not affordable for me. Can you direct me to online/web-based wysywyg html editor that will allow me to add links to a site for which i have ftp access through web. I can see the html file that i need to add links into, but need a simple web-based tool allowing me to add the links and republish the page. TIA
Firefox HTML Editor? I have Firefox 2.0 and have downloaded FireFTP (an FTP software) that is integrated into Firefox. I have looked everywhere for an HTML editor that is integrated into Firefox so I could write, transfer and then view all in the same software. Does this kind of add-on exist?
Best HTML Editor for IE6? Anyone know of a very good HTML Editor we can plug into our web pages for IE6+ users that can handle MS Word 2003 cut/paste content? The pasted word data will be mostly tables and images. We're using Asp.net 1.1 and Sharepoint Services 2.0 on a Windows 2003 box. We'd like to find a free solution but anything commercial less than $1000 is acceptable too. Thanks. BTW I am talking about a rich text editor that appears on the client side within the IE6 browser for users to input information and not a web application like FrontPage to perform HTML page creation. I'm talking about something like FreeTextBox HTML editor: http://www.freetextbox.com

Best free HTML editor for Windows? What HTML editor works best on Windows? I want to be able to generate XHTML pages and write CSS within it... Edited to add: I don't want a WSYIWYG interface; I only care about code view.
Switching to HTML editor on FreeWebs? I have created an account where I used the HTML editor instead of the templates before, but with the new look(since the last time I was there anyway) I can't seem to find the option to create new pages staring from scratch or upload my own. How do I switch to that? A fast repsonse would be really appreciated. :D @ ZERO COOL: The host's name is "FreeWebs". :b I know they have it, I've used it before. They just moved things around and it's confusing.
Whats the best PHP/HTML editor w/o WYSIWYG? Currently I use PHP Designer 2005 which was a fantastic program, but thats starting to get old now and is no longer supported. Can anyone recommend a free program that has syntax highlighing for multiple languages (css, javascript, html, php), tabbed editor and lacks a WYSIWYG interface? I've tried Dev-PHP, which is good but does anyone have any other suggestions?

Where can I find a free/cheap ASP HTML editor component? I'm putting together a website and I want users to be able to use a small, low featured html editor (think yahoo mail editor) to modify some info on their page and then I store the code on a SQL db for later display. I'm looking for some code or a component to use on an ASP page to provide this functionality. Thanks, Joe
Best WYSIWYG HTML Editor - Commercial or other? By WYSIWYG HTML editor i mean those html editors embedded on webpages which people so commonly use to compose messages containing text formatting and images. I do not mean desktop applications like Frontpage. Our online website makes use of a simple WYSIWYG HTML editor (FCKeditor ) to allow admins to compose an HTML page to be presented to users. The current editor is very limiting and want to find a more capable one. We require: + Can add/edit table tables + Copy-paste from MS Word (containing tables, photos, formatted text), maintain proper look + Autosave + Image alignments / text wrapping We are willing to pay for a quality commerical wysiwyg html editor. Thanks for any suggestions.
HTML Text Editor on Mac os x? What can I use for an HTML test editor on mac os x? I tried "text editor" but when i tried saving it as c:/mysite.html. the colon showed up as a "-" why is this happening?
Please Recommend HTML/WYSIWYG Editor. Please read details.? Greets. I am a hardcoder by nature of HTML, however I am tired of dealing manually with tables. Can someone recommend the BEST combined HTML, CSS, XML, ETC., with WYSIWYG editor. Prefer to have html pane, wysiwyg pane, and preview and preview in browser button along with built in ftp? Don’t want something so simple that I am limited, I want as much freedom as possible. My main objective is the ability on the wysiwyg pane to merge and split cells. HTML pane is a must. I don’t want to have to enter html snippets in a little pop-up box. Thanks in advance for your help. I don’t mind paying for the software, so it doesn’t have to be freeware. I can’t run Dreamweaver on Vista right now, don’t have the memory. I CANNOT run Dreamweaver, I already stated that and I also explained about the only reason I want it is for tables. If you don't bother reading the details and you are going to knock me for using this type of editor, please do not waste my time by even responding.
Free html/css editor? Hi, can you recommend a good free html/xhtml/css editor. My free trial of Dreamweaver has ended and I need to do some urgent updates. I need the editor to recognise file location changes and to be able to do site-wide find and replace. A validator and contextual colours would also be helpful. I have downloaded Arachnophilia, is it any good? Many thanks. P.S. I am using Vista.
Help with creating an HTML WYSIWYG editor? I want to know if it is possible to create a WYSIWYG editor for HTML that does not put the HTML headers and footers around the stuff you type into it? The reason is that what I type needs to be HTML code fragments not complete pages. I am using an iFrame as the editing window, is it possible to set this so the iFrames content soes not include the footers automatically, or is the another component other than iFrame that will work how I want it?

Need Html editor? I need a website editor fast!!!! Somthing along the lines of Frontpage (demo or freeware)
Which HTML editor? I currently use Microsoft FrontPage to design my website but have been told it looks unprofessional and is obviously made with FrontPage. Can you suggest an alternative or better editor to use. If you have any advice on how I can improve or enhance my site, please tell me. You can check it out at www.beanbob-online.co.uk Don't forget 'BEST' answer gets TEN POINTS.
Free HTML editor with total position control over graphics and more? I need a free HTML aditor similar to Geocities but that you can download on your computer; I want to be able to move images and text boxes around anywhere on the page (like WebDwarf) but I also want it to have features like ROLLOVERS for images and other gadgets. Thanks!
Whats a good HTML Editor? I want a TEXT ONLY I have Frontpage if i wanted to use it i wouldn't be asking this question I WANT A TEXT ONLY EDITOR, NO What You See Is What You Get Also , I'm getting tired of notepad Thanks node1499 But i want one of those with the color Highlighting the tags Oh, and doesn't cost 5000 Dollars
What's the best HTML editor? I know "best" is a matter of opinion. I've used Dreamweaver and just wondering if there's anything else out there as I just reinstalled my operating system and lost the Dreamweaver program. Is there a free place to download one? I have a business website where I upload an html file and just need a program to edit the files on my computer (well, technically I can do it with just the coding but that gets annoying). Thanks!
Which is a good free HTML editor? I don't need a wysiwyg editor, I can code by hand, but like something like Homesite where you can use keyboard shortcuts to input some tags, and will also close your tags for you. Which one should I go with? I tried coffeecup and it was horrible. EditPlus is not freeware. Notepad is too tedious.
HTML editor that supports tag matching? I've been using Notetab Pro and Notepad++. Both support syntax highlighting, but neither seem to support tag matching. I'm editing a very large page and need it to help keep things organized. I made the following pic to show what I need it to do: http://i18.tinypic.com/52nck94.png Ideally, I'd be able to left-click an opening tag and have it automatically highlight both the opening and ending tags. I'm aware of Notepad++'s Indent Guide, but it's not what I need. Any suggestions will be appreciated. :) I'd prefer it to be open source or 100% freeware.
Good HTML Editors ? We're looking for an HTML Editor to place onto our IE6 web pages for visitors to provide information to our site. In particular we would like users to be able to copy data from MS Word and paste it into the editor and have the results (including copied clipart/images from MS Word) to appear within the HTML Editor. It can be built from Javascript,ActiveX, .NET, or Java. As long as it works under IE6 and can handle MS Word pasted input correctly. Thanks.
HTML editors? know any free (latest) html editor that i can insert the codes and preview the output in 'click of the mouse'?, l (like www.chami.com ' html kit only newer)
Any good free HTML editors out there? Hi All, My band has just registered our domain name, and ..well were good musicians, but not know for our web designing. We may consider bringing in outside help down the road, but would like to attempt to build our site on our own first. Does anyone know of a good free(user friendly) HTML Editor, also Java Script program that is out right now? Thanks in advance for your answers.
online html editors or website builders not tied to hosting ? are there any online html editors (or website builders or anything) that are not tied to hosting? example: is there ANY online way to edit a page on my site hosted on godaddy (except use of godaddy's own lame system) ???? if the website builders and templates and all that stuff is ONLY a FEATURE of a hosting service, then why all the big promotion of the 'website builders' and 'online html editors' by independent parties? with all the yelling about "online" this and that and "web 2.0", is the situation truly that in order to edit my godaddy hosted sites i must either use their lame/lousy online tools or be tied to my own computer hard drive? There is NO OTHER online/web-based solution for editing html pages???? TIA for any clarification what about online editing of files that i can access online directly in ftp space? I now can go to ftp space in browser, but have to edit even trivial html files offline. There isn't even something as simple as Notepad online???? Or ANYTHING that i can use online for simple editing? Not looking for free. If the online tool allows me to do simple edits, like adding links, when i away from my own computer, i will pay a lot. / Buying Dreamweaver for what i need (simple things like adding links to a page) would be like hiring the Dallas Cowboys to put away my groceries: It would be total overkill; it would cost lots and lots of time to learn how to get them to put the stuff where i want it; and i'd be totally tied to my desk. Investing in Dreamweaver would be like buying a luxury house-prison that can't move one inch, when what i need is a way to do simple tasks away from my desk.
Online HTML Editors - Basically, How Does It Work? There are many online HTML editors (ie. www.FreeTextBox.com). Can someone please explain to me how exactly they go about achieving text input and applying different styles to any portion of the typed text? That is, are they simply using a TEXTAREA and when the user clicks to have BOLD they are identifying the selected region and wrapping a <B> element around the text? Again Im interested in how they are able to achieve live text input like a textbox/textarea and are able to apply styles to each and every character to it. Thanks
Are there any other good (X)HTML editors which are not as expensive as Macromedia DreamWeaver? I have used/tried PHP Designer 2006 http://www.phpdesigner.dk/ , HTML-Kit http://www.chami.com/html-kit/ , Netscape's/Mozilla's composer http://www.mozilla.org/products/mozilla1.x/ , and N-Vu http://www.nvu.com/ .These are all free, for extra features you can buy HTML kit for a reasonable price. I am looking for a program that preferably works on Mac and Windows, reasonably priced (or free), and has many features (PHP, HTML, Unicode UTF-8 support). You might wonder why I do not think the aforementioned programs are good enough, well because they all lack certain features (HTML tidy code checking for example is not included in every program, a tabbed interface, or they make annoying changes to make the source code 'more readable').
Listbox in vbscript using an HTML editor Homesite.? I have the following code: <select name="Listbox1"> <option value="1">buy <option value="2">sell <option value="3">hold <option value="4">trade </select> I would like to to give a different message for each option selected. <script language="VBScript"> Function Listbox1_onchange() Select Case Listbox1 Case 1 msgbox "buy" Case 2 msgbox "sell" Case else msgbox "Zero" End Select End Function </script> This does not work. I only get Case Else response. How do I write the code?
