Do I need to learn something like FrontPage or Dreamweaver if I've already learnt some basic HTML?
I've already learnt some basic HTML and can write a simple webpage with several pages linking together. Can I continue to improve my webpage writing ability without learning something like Frontpage or Dreamweaver, just by learning more HTML and maybe also something like Javascript or PHP? Thanks a lot.

- i think so. i mean personally i used dreamweaver...ive never tried javascript.etc but to me dreamweaver was a very easy self elxplained program... but i mean if the other programs are just as good then i would sure think so
- Dreamwaever and front page will help you design webpages faster and correctly, so you should learn one of them. You also need Javascript so that you can program the client side (the web browser). There are a lot of server technologies PHP is one of them and the most supported by funs on the internet. With php you can have dynamic web pages. Hope this helped
- well Frontpage or Dreamweaver help you design layout easier, you will have to re-learn how to use tools. Knowing HTML code is best to continue on PHP because when do PHP code you cant use WYSIWYG software to preview it anymore.
- hi...i know about HTML too but this not enough ...dreamweaver is your best choice for web design ..its designed for all designers level...(simple HTML designers...php experts..and more)..its your tool for professional web pages ... if you want the program (dreamweaver mx 2004)..i can help you find it with an active serial number....
- No, you don't need something else to desingn a web site. Working directly in HTML code you can make your page to look just like you want it. Instead, by using something like FrontPage, you have to choose a given layout (in the best case you get to alter a little that layout). So, I recommend you to learn better HTML, and not to waste your time with FrontPage or something like that. Also JavaScript is very usefull to design a good site, so try and learn that language too.
- You need to learn Javascript and PHP (or some other server side scripting language), but not necessarily to use a website editor. If you know HTML and CSS then you can do everything that a website editor can. Most times even easier and better.
- of course... Dreamweaver and FrontPage is there just to make the job easier but its always crucial to rely on the codes itself and not on the drag-and-drop software. Based on personal experience. one professor taught us HTML and one professor taught my boyfriend and his friends dreamweaver..in dreamweaver they can gurantee the design of the webpage.. but when something is wrong, they cant fix it because all they know is drag and drop After that, they will call me and ask me to do something about it.. since i know HTML, i change the code and its done.. in the end they hate their professor for teaching them Dreamweaver instead of HTML coding.. see what i mean? its always crucial to learn the coding part but its not bad to use Deamweaver to make your work easier.. just dont rely on Dreamweaver only..
