How long would you wait to get payment from an online auction?
I sold some collectables on EBay this past Thursday. I posted in the listing that payment should be sent within 3 days of the close of the auction. No payment via Paypal, and no response from my message/invoice that I sent to two of the buyers. (I sold 7 items).
How long would you wait to see if you receive payment either via Paypal, or by mail, before you start questioning the buyers?

- I would wait about one week since the item was bought before I started investigating just to give the buyer a fair amount of time to make the payment.
- If you stated that buyers must pay within 3 days then you should stick to that policy. They knew the rules when they bid. Give them negative feedback and let ebay know that you didnt receive payment.
- If you still have no response, I find that if you send them an e-mail telling your buyers that if you don't receive payment that day you will leave negative feedback with Ebay. I find this generally works for me and nudges them into paying straigh away. Good luck! Kazzy
- If it's been 3 days they should have notified you or paid. Ask what's going on.
- Be patient. 10 days is a reasonable amount of time to recieve payment. Not everyone uses PayPal. People don't expect to have to be penpals every time they make a purchase. They get an invoice and send payment.
- DO you accept money orders if so wait a few more days b4 leaveing a negative. if you are on one side of the country and they are on the other it can take longer than 3 days to get there. when i was selling on there i always gave 7 days for payment. I wouldn't leave a neg FB until after then. Even then not sure i would leave neg, things happen.
- 10 days maximum
