How and where can I sell a diamond ring without using an online auction site?

I need to sell my engagement ring as my ex owed me money I need to pay off. I've tried ebay but since it's worth more than $6,000, it seems to be too large of a purchase for online users. How do I sell locally or does anyone have any other options? Thanks!

  2. Try going to a jewlery store. A lot of them sell jewlery on consignment.

  6. ok there is this thing called a PAWN SHOP. Ever heard of it? you can get a good price for gold there
  7. local newspaper, but keep it in a deposit box at the bank, and when someone wants to look at it, you go there to meet them. That is the safest.
