I Need Help Starting A Major Online Auction Website?

I have had plans for the past 6 years to start a major online auction website (as in as major as eBay). Does anyone have a list of things that are required to run such a big website (e.g. security, promotions, headquarters, legal stuff, software, hardware, computer stuff, etc.)? I have looked up stuff and bought a whole bunch of stuff and it did not help. My online auction website will have more catagories, choices, things, and other better stuff than eBay (I have yet to come up with a name for my online auction website as all 45 names that I have come up with have been taken). Also, the price that you would have to pay on my site would be only 35 cents (compared to eBay's 35 cents to place your item on eBay and the 15 cents for additional pictures and more money for more features which is rediculous for people to pay). Could someone please help me and give me ideas and things that I need to even begin and continue to run such a huge online auction website possibly bigger than eBay????

  1. Biggest problem you'll have is advertising e-bay is such an entrenched brand I honestly couldnt tell you one competitor
