What makes you buy something off of ebay?

I recently started a eBay drop off store. I was just wondering what is the biggest reason you purchase something off of ebay. Is it the buyers feedback, price, shipping rate, item is cheap, templates, or it looks professionally made. I just needed to know if it was out of my control or it has to do with my templates and feedback 100% btw.

  1. I buy something if they seem reputable and it is cheaper than if I were to go and buy the same thing from a store.
  2. i buy for stuff I want...but i research the sellers, and wont buy from ones I dont trust. I used to sell, but am only a buyer now.
  3. Well sometimes I find something that I cant find anywhere else. Other times is that I find things cheaper, or im too lazy to go and buy them. If I see a couple of sellers selling the same item then I look for feedback experience.
  4. I dont wanna take any risk purchasing or buying in ebay.
  5. People generally look for cheap, but nice looking things that are expensive normally. Also, they want good condition on the items.
  6. First of all, there has to be a need for the product. I've personally never bought something out of impulse on ebay. Then i typically look at the professionalism in the ad itself (looking for grammer, solid description, pictures, etc) and finally, but probably most important, is the feedback. Most people won't even attempt a bid if the user has negative, or no feedback.
  7. Good price, honest shipping price, and something in the description lets me know the item is of good quality. Sometimes I am willing to pay a little more if it says free shipping. In my brain I know it's the same, but it just lets me know I'm not getting ripped off on the shipping. I do like it if it says actual shipping charges, no handling fees.
  8. I don't like ebay as much as this site called CRAIGS LIST because ebay you pay for shipping and if you don't watch out for the gbs something letters next the list price you'll screw your self because it means its from brazil and the item will be twice the price. Be careful. CRAIGS LIST is a site you can type in your area for things people are selling and you pick it up there and you can sell your own things and don't have to include shipping.
  9. Well, Ive never have. My favorite place is, shopping channel..I by frequently.
  10. bad impluse control, which is cool, cause i have so much cool stuff from ebay
  11. prices, hard to get items,no fighting crowds,or going to malls
  12. I love ebay. I shop there for things I can't find anywhere else, or for a larger selection. For example, my cousin collects nutcrackers. I can find old, new, and extremely unusual items there for good prices. Also, collectibles that you can't find everywhere. But, for everyday items, I also find that the prices on ebay are often unbeatable, especially for things like cell phone batteries or cordless phone batteries, electronic accessories, etc. Also, software and games. Clothing & especially shoes, if you know your sizes. Really, I guess I always check ebay for anything I buy online, at least to compare prices. Item description and pictures are also very important. I want to know what I'm buying, and I want details! Spelling and grammar are always good, but English isn't the first language for some sellers and I try to keep that in mind. Spending half the ad telling me about your 'policies' and how you'll neg me, etc, etc, is a major turn-off. Tell me about the item, not how 'put out' you are about non-paying bidders. Keep your interactive content out of the ad, also. I don't need moving things and little dogs running around the page. Too much crap just makes loading time longer and is a distraction. And, PLEASE, don't add that feature that makes little 'trails' of stuff that follows my cursor around. I'll leave an ad like that in a flash. Feedback is extremely important and I won't buy from anyone with less than stellar feedback, unless they sell things like video games and the reviews are from idiots. I always read the feedback, take the source into consideration, and go from there. Shipping prices are also very important. Some sellers really rip you off on shipping, so that always has to be a consideration. I have nearly 400 purchases from ebay and also have a 100% FB rating as a buyer. I love Paypal, also, and won't deal with a seller that doesn't accept it. Checks and money orders are too much of a hassle. One word, though. Drop shipping has the reputation for being a very risky endeavor. If you want the full scoop on selling on ebay, drop by the ebay newsgroup and carefully read the info there. Those sellers are full of knowledge, though often rather rude, so it's usually best to 'lurk' till you get the feel of the place. Check them out if you've never visited. Also, you can read all about drop shipping: alt.marketing.online.ebay Best of luck! Polly
  13. Actually it is a hard job trying to understand the purchase behavior of the ebay buyers, because the motivations are quite different and every seller can present their products with different stories and there are always buyers for almost every story behind a product. If you ask if you can somehow induce your visitors to become buyers the answer is yes, and of course to do it i recommend you to continue doing this kind of benchmark but you have to create you own selling argument behind every product. I do not mean to put all the known selling argument everybody puts, like, Cheap, hi quality, great service, Guaranty, secure online purchase i mean really create a case of your product with substantial, quantifiable evidence to back yourself up and your merchandise. And as for the templates, create your own standard product presentation where people can compare easily..... easy is a keyword that could really help you. An finally let me give you the reason why i purchase at ebay... it is because i find a lot of offers of a lot of stuff at the same place.... I Hope this helps you..
  14. the price
  15. I use eBay for the cheapest prices, but a good reputation (feedback) and a good looking listing (using templates) with lots of information so I don't have to waste time asking questions will make me happy. Shipping doesn't bother me, I just pay for the quickest and most secure service.
