Does the owner of a public online auction website has the right to co-operate with the local police?

I'm not the owner of any online auction website. My college project require me to design the sample interface of an public online auction website for every sellers and buyers. The website is just a school project, and will not be hosted on any web server. I am currently designing the 'Terms & Conditions' web page. In the 'terms and conditions' web page, I am going to include the restrictions for the seller. Situations: - Seller is selling illegal products (drugs, pirated softwares, pirated DVD / VCD / audio CD, etc) - Seller try to cheat the buyer's money. If the above situations occurred, does the owner of the online auction website has the right to report the local police? Or, if the owner does not report to the local police, but the local police request the seller's information, does he or she (website owner) has the right to give the seller's information (IP Address, Identification number, address, etc) to the local police?

  1. Yes, the owner has to provide all the information to all law enforcement agencies coz surely he doesn't want himself stuck into a sling. Good Luck !!!
