online/web-based wysywyg html editor that is not limited to isp site?

Looking for simple online/web-based wysywyg html editor. But the only things i'm finding in searches are captive programs that are web-builders for particular isp sites, like godaddy template web-builder. It seems that ektron is the type of 'general' program that is usable on whatever i site i choose, but since the only thing i need to do is to add links to a site, that is not affordable for me. Can you direct me to online/web-based wysywyg html editor that will allow me to add links to a site for which i have ftp access through web. I can see the html file that i need to add links into, but need a simple web-based tool allowing me to add the links and republish the page. TIA

  1. Don't know of any online ones but nvu is a good free WYSIWYG HTML editor that you can download. http://www.nvu.com/index.php Don't know if you'd be interested in doing it this way but its actually very easy to do what you want to do by hand, just download the HTML file to your local computer with your ftp program, then if using Windows, open the file in notepad and add your links. Say you wanted to link to yahoo for instance, the HTML would be: <a href="http://www.yahoo.com"> yahoo.com </a> Just make sure in notepad that you save as a .html file instead of the .txt file that notepad will default to if you don't tell it otherwise. After you're done adding your links to the file, use your ftp program to upload it back to the server, if the file is named the same as the original your new one will just overwrite the old one, though it might ask you to confirm you want to do this.
  2. I know EZLAVA can be set up on anyone's server that has ftp access. It's an online/web=based wysiwyg html editor. It's $15, plus a small set up fee, to have it set up on your own server.
