Where to find an HTML editor?

I am hoping to find an HTML editor which can automatically match tags for me. Ability for indentation is even better. The reason I am looking for this is that it's very easy to mass up HTML code when the level of nesting for <table> or <div> is too deep, and I forget to close some of the open tags.

  1. For Windows First Page 2000 and First Page 2006 beta http://evrsoft.com Sorry I don't know one for a Mac
  2. On the Mac the best HTML editor is BBEdit which has a "close tags" function. Not sure what to recommend for Windows.
  3. Nvu may be just what you're looking for. It's cross-platform (Linux, Windows, Mac) and best of all, it's free. http://www.nvu.com/download.html I hope it works out for you. -Colourgirlie ^_^.
  4. Well, if your asking for a very simplistic way to edit webpages you can simply use Microsoft Word (assuming you have Microsoft Office) and visually create the page as it will be displayed without having to worry about the code. Otherwise, I like to stick to Notepad. ;-)
  5. If u have frontpage then u have very good HTML editor...
  6. BBEdit, as mentioned above, is Apple's best editor. For the PC I'd have to say HomeSite. You can hand code HTML, and preview in HomeSite. It gives you help with different HTML tags and has proper color coding of your code. For a more WYSIWYG type of thing, I'd go with dreamweaver. Better than Frontpage. Way better.
