How Do I change my HTML Editor?

I use IE 6.0. My HTML editor is Windows Notepad. I tryed going to properties, then to programs. NO CAN CHANGE! Please help!

  1. Stop usin MSIE, move to Firefox and go for an extension to edit directly on the Firefox screen.
  2. Notepad is a great editor but I guess you didnt want to hear that ;O) Open a folder on your hard drive (any folder), on the top menu go to 'tools', 'folder options'. Click on 'file types' tab and browse down the list till you get to 'html'. Click on the 'advanced' button. Highlight where you see 'edit' in the little window and click on the button for 'edit' next to the window. Now browse to the program you want to use to edit your html and 'ok' all the menu levels back out.
  3. In internet Explorer, Go to Tools->Internet Options menu. In the programs tab, there is an option to set HTML editor from the available HTML editors.
  4. You should be careful telling people to move to firefox. yes it is better with css but 90% of web surfers still use internet explorer. so be certain to code your pages for both or you'll be sorry.
