I want to create a functional website for an online store; what is the best & least expensive html editor?

Or is it better to simply use a service like Yahoo Small Business or similar service to start up an online store? I have rudimentary html writing skill but not much more, but I don't want a "cookie cutter" site. I'd like it to resemble a newsletter or magazine splash page, possibly with an RSS feed area (blog), but I don't have experience with formatting using html or anything else (XML is after my time, and I only know RSS because it is mentioned so often w/regard to blog technology.)

  1. NVU is free [ http://tinyurl.com/rxybn ]. What you are really asking for is a Content Management System (CMS) - take a look for more info: http://tinyurl.com/5m8jd .
  2. Find a local web designer.....a store is not a web page but some intense code to deal with credit cards, encryption, security, etc.
  3. I made my website with Yahoo SiteBuilder. Is far from looking top-professional but it gets the job done, it's pretty easy to make whatever you want and it's 100% free. They also propose a pretty solid option for an online store.
  4. I use an Ebay store and it's well worth the $15 I pay. The first 30 days is free to give it a try.
  5. I would suggest u check out- yahoo (Geocities), Freewebs google (googlepages, blogger) they are functional and also free! check my profile for a list of websites , all the best :)
