Anyone know of any good work-from-home ideas besides selling on online auction sites? Piece work maybe?

I've heard of home jobs like stuffing envelopes, building computers and other items at home. Does anyone have a link to a site where I can join up to do this stuff? I've built several computers before. That would be great. Maybe assembling crafts or other things in mass quantities? Any help appreciated. Thanks for reading.

  8. The most popular way to make money online in a home business is in affiliate marketing. There are literally 10's of 1000's of reputable companies looking for individuals to sell their products online. So the opportunities to make money are endless. To be successful you would need to find a program that would fit within your budget and provide all the tools, programs and training you need to be successful. There are those that make a 1000 per month, and those that make a couple 100 per day, and those that make 1000 of dollars a day. It depends how much effort you want to put into it. There is an online university that is training thousands of individuals right now, and many of them are already making lots of money. The cost is unbelievably inexpensive. I suggest you get more info. by clicking on the following link. There are many great ways to make money online. Unfortunately, many of them need money for advertising. 13. Do not try stuffing envelopes! I've heard too many horror stories from different people on how many envelopes you have to do to make a buck! 100 at one cents a piece equals 1.00 Then more then half the time you don't get paid because the company comes up with an excuse as to something you did wrong or didn't do. There are a few work at home jobs out there. But the ones that are good, your lucky to make minimum wage. It's not enough income to survive on. I'd suggest if you really want to work from home, is to start your own home based business. There are plenty of options in this area. My husband and I started our own business over six years ago in this and it's just incredible. We got involved in the telecommunications industry. We partnered up with a 15 year old world wide company that offer services that people use every day and pay for anyway. Services such as local and long distance telephone services, Internet, video phones, VOIP, digital, Satellite T.V. and all the major cellular phone companies have partnered up with them too. How many people do you know that uses any of these services? How would you like it if you could save people money on their services that they are going to be using every day, and make a percentage of everyone's payments? Think about how much money you can make in this industry. It's just incredible. If you'd like some information, feel free to email me. There's a lot of other business's that you can get involved in too. I created a blog on my 360 page that your more then welcome to take a look at. There are over half a dozen different ones. If you find one you like, contact the person who wrote it. Tiffany

  15. I got involved in a home based business awhile back. We turned it into funding money for our non-profit organizaton and have helped out a few different organizations for their major funding source in the telecommunications department. I don't know if you want to go this big, you don't have to you can keep it simple. But it's something you should look into. 16. You are probably receiving a lot of information about possible work from home jobs. I have been in your shoes and have spent many hours online researching and trying to find the right one. The one thing that I ended up figuring out is that there are no true work from home "jobs." In a work from home job you usually start out working for a company and then for whatever reason, sometimes, the company will let you take your job home; thus work from home job. However, there are many work from home “opportunities.” These opportunities provide you with the vehicle to work from home and build your own business. The difficult or frustrating part about finding the right opportunity is that there are many offers that are not legitimate, but scams. Theses scams make it difficult for the companies that truly offer a legitimate opportunity to work from home. Usually, work from home opportunities have a small investment to start your own business. These are okay as long as they are around $100, anything much more than that and I would stay away. Also if they require a monthly overhead to run the business it should include things like your websites, training, back office system, and support. Remember any business that you start and want to continue (whether it’s retail, restaurant, or home-based) will always have start up costs and monthly expenses. I am a stay at home mother of 2 (ages 4 and 2). My husband works 6 days a week and I do not have much help in the area of child care for my children. On my journey to finding the right work from home opportunity I tried everything from selling vitamins, lotions and many other product based companies. I also looked into processing information online. What I realized with all these companies is that I usually put more money back into my business and ended up with lots of product I really did not need. I also was very skeptical of some of those online work from home websites that really never got to the point of what I would be doing to earn income. Finally, I was given information on a legitimate work from home company. At first I was very skeptical and paid no attention to the information. Then one day my mother needed to have some dental work done but had no insurance. I remembered that I had some information on discount dental plans. Once I researched the information I had been given, I realized that I could provide my mother with a way to pay less for her procedure and earn an income for signing her onto the discount dental plan. I have been with the company since and am on the fast track toward building a residual income. I work 15 hours a week (give or take a few) for a National Discount Medical Benefits Company. The company has been in business for over 16 years and is continuing to expand! We have been featured on "60 minutes", "The New York Times", "Wall Street Journal", "Time Magazine", and "American Medical Review" as one of the most reputable, legitimate home based companies. We are members of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the National Association of Dental Plans and the owner of the company sits on the board of The Consumer Health Alliance, which we are also a part of their membership. Our company addresses the number one problem in US, which is that 70% of Americans can't afford or can't get health insurance for whatever reason. We are an alternative for people who are suffering with their health because of this issue. Now to work for our company you don't have to know everything there is to know about Health Care. Our company will train you on how to communicate our services to those who need it. We have over 2 million members that use our plans and save money on their health care. When you work for the company you are able to set your own hours and build a residual income while you work. Because we get paid month after month, year after year for the work we do our income is always increasing and we get paid even when we don’t work. The company also does not enforce a monthly quota, which was important to me. I wanted to have the flexibility to work when I wanted and how much I wanted. Of course the more you put into your business the more income you will receive. Some of the benefits we offer are 401k, direct deposit, life insurance and a family benefit package for your entire household. The next best thing is there is no cold calling, telemarketing, stocking of inventory, collecting of payments, and no home parties! This was very important to me as I had the child care issue to deal with and wanted to be able to stay home and work without having to leave my house. Another great thing about our company is that we all work together to as a team. We are not out to compete with our fellow representatives. Whenever I need advice my team is there to help me to be a success. This was also very important as I was new to the business and wanted the team support you get working a 9-5 job without having to work the 9-5 job. I have also made many friends along the way and still have the interaction with adults while taking care of my children at home. I guess I could go on and on about what we do and how we get paid, but the best thing for you to do is research the company for yourself and determine if it is right for you. 17. I know a lot about this topic so please forgive the length of this reply. I have a lot of good info for you. I am a mother of two little girls who are actually tugging on my arm as I write this so I will try to be brief. Many people are looking for work from home companies. All the scams definitely create a big problem but also, there is a problem of people misunderstanding the difference between work from home "jobs" and work from home opportunities. There really are not work from home “jobs”. To get that you have to start working for a company in their offices first, then they MAY allow you to take the job home. Most of the work from home opportunities that are legitimate offers are not an hourly pay type job. They are business opportunities that help you in starting your own business from your home. What you should do first is to decide if you are simply looking for an hourly rate type job or if you are looking for more of an opportunity for additional income such as what you would make in your own business being your own boss from home. Many say a JOB stands for Just Over Broker and I have found that to be true as well. I never got anywhere working for others. Small home businesses have some small costs involved, less then $500 to start is reasonable and I would stay away from those wanting $1000-$5000. It doesn’t cost that much to start and run a home business so you shouldn’t pay it. The real ones will have a small monthly overhead as well. Should be around $50 a month but no more then $75. And everything should be included from your web sites to training and team support to back office accounting and booking. It’s ok to pay this overhead because it’s a business, they cost money. It’s not reasonable to assume you can run a business from home with a website, accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, processing and more for free so do keep that in mind as you search. If you are coming across places that say free then I would RUN don’t walk the other way! They never are. I tried them many a times and 3 weeks later I had to buy this and 6 weeks later that. After 6 months these “free businesses” had cost me over $800 on average. I’m a stay at home mom of two little girls as I mentioned, ages 1 and 3. I work about 15-18 hours per week for a National Medical Benefits Company. This is a home business, a nationally known and reputable home business which is what you need to make sure you are looking for. I have been with the company almost a year now and I make over $3500 a month! In your first month, depending on how many hours you can work, I have seen people make anywhere from $500 to over $3000. And your income will increase each month because we get paid residual income as well. If I continue on as I am going at the end of the year I will be making $6000 a month. My friend Becky from South Carolina started 2 years before me and she is now making $102,000 a year with this company. The best part is they have 401(k), direct deposit, life insurance and a benefits package most of which you get from day one. In addition, there are no products, no hard selling or pushing, no cold calling, no home parties and no telemarketing! That was VERY important to me. I absolutely love working with them and I can't believe I am making what I am making and in so few hours per week. The neat thing is there are other people on your team that you work with so you are never alone. You have great team support and you get to know the other people on your team pretty well. The support is great but I have made wonderful friends as well. I think that’s important too, especially being at home! I was a bit apprehensive at first because I know a lot of companies are not legit but this company is the number one National Medical Benefits Company in the US. They are a member of the US Chamber of Commerce, and the National Association of Dental Plans and the owner of the company actually sits on the board of The Consumer Health Alliance to which we are also members. Also they were featured in “The New York Times”, “Wall Street Journal” “Time Magazine” and the “American Medical Review”. Even “60 Minutes” with Morley Safer did a big special on this home based business. Even more then all this is they are accepted at over 100,000 retailers nation wide. These are fortune 500 companies like Sears, Target, Walgreens, CVS, Wal-mart, Publix and more. These companies would never work with a company that was any thing less then reputable. That made me feel very good about working with them knowing they were accepted at these stores that I frequent. Also now of course being with them I get the dental and vision benefits for free and I saved over $150 on my last visit to the dentist! That’s just a beautiful perk! : - ) When I first started I just felt very safe with them, that and my friend was already making so much money with Ameriplan. But at this point I feel a sense of security financially that our family has never had before. That plus LOVING what you do? What could be better? Check them out! Just type in www.workathomeplus.net in your web browser. -Amy This answer has been chosen as a “Best Answer” more then 14 times!
  18. The ones that aren't scams actually require work on your part - and if you're in need of money soon then you're likely to be sorely disappointed in any of those as well. Most of the legit opportunities out there take time to build - so if someone makes an outrageous claim of income it probably isn't true ( and those that are true sure didn't make that kind of money when they first began ). http://working-from-home-ireland.blogspot.com/ Time & effort required - but do your own research on what is best for you, don't take the advice of myself and others as gospel from this type of forum. http://work-at-home-tips.blogspot.com/ I have other ideas that may help - one of them is an online opportunity but another is one that will require a little effort to market yourself - try some data entry for local businesses, many of them don't have the time to do it in-house and will gladly pay someone else to do it. Professionals are a good place to start, lawyers, doctors, chiropractors, etc - they need their "in-house" folks doing other things rather than busy work. http://american-data-entry.blogspot.com/ Hope it helps!
  19. You could try doing what I do. I sell crafts and household appliances online. It's pretty easy to do because of drop shipping; when a wholesaler ships their products directly to your customers, so you don't have to store any inventory or ship products. You just sell their stuff online with the websites they give you and collect the difference on whatever markup you choose to sell their products at. The hard part is doing the work to market your store across the Internet and bring customers. It works though I make $700-1400/week doing it depending how hard I work at it. You could check out http://www.yourownonlinestorefront.com its the site that got me started.
  20. there is a company called AFAH, I worked from home for them about 6 years but then decided that manufacturing was more in the lines of what i was looking for, i made pretty good money. IT was roughly $500 a week or so. Good Luck. If u have any questions, e-mail me at: jimwellington@yahoo.com
